ADWA is the leading voice for people employed in Community Disability Services. We deliver targeted advocacy, promote skill development and competency, and elevate the profile of workers and the essential services they provide to Albertans with disabilities.
Historically the compensation that workers receive does not reflect the essential service they provide. ADWA is a strong advocate for fair compensation for this valuable workforce.
ADWA strives to inform, involve and garner support from the greater community and increase understanding of the importance and the professional nature of the work being done by Community Disability Service Workers.
ADWA’s funding base is its membership dues. Increasing membership provides ADWA with additional resources to advocate and carry out other important priorities on behalf of the workforce.
